Bollywood (Indian Cinematic) Dance workshop!
I am super excited to teach a Bollywood (Indian Cinematic) Dance workshop on Dec 7th in Cuenca. No prior experience is required. There will also be a Bazaar with Jewelry and shawls, etc. that I recently bought from India. There will be a raffle to give a piece of Jewelry and also henna (natural temporary tattoo using the leaves of the henna plant).
I will be speaking in both English (I am Indian American) and Spanish during the workshop!

Bollywood dance is a colorful, dynamic, and expressive dance style seen in Indian films. It is a mix of movements from different dance styles- contemporary and traditional. With no set rules, Bollywood dance is perfect for freedom of creative expression.
I was born in Kerala, India and I started dancing bollywood at the age of 13. After moving to the United States on my own, I was selected for the nationally acclaimed Bhangra team called RU Bhangra. While I have taken some classes, I am primarily self-taught. I have danced in over 60 shows and has choreographed and taught students young and old, in English, Malayalam and Spanish. Dance is my passion along with teaching Mathematics and I am excited to share it in Ecuador!
